Description
Recorded by the Dan Gailey Jazz Orchestra on their OA2 Records release "What Did You Dream?", Point No Point is a contemporary straight-eighths composition inspired heavily by the harmonic language of the Pat Metheny Group. The chart is built around a 6-note ostinato in 5/4 that is introduced at the very beginning, and features guitar or trombone. It builds to a exciting closing before the 5/4 ostinato reappears briefly at the very end.
