Description
Lone Stars was commissioned by the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra Jazz Orchestra directed by Kris Berg. This up tempo modal piece features a catchy melody, hip changes, a saxophone soli, solos for tenor saxophone 1, piano and trumpet 2, a canonic contrapuntal section and richly scored shout chorus before the return of the melody and an exciting ending.
