Description
Commissioned by Jim Linahon and the Fullerton College Jazz Ensemble (Fullerton CA), Birdology was written for and premiered at the 1995 International Association of Jazz Educators Convention on Los Angeles. Up-tempo blues that uses many Charlie Parker tune quotes and features the 1st Alto Sax (or other saxes!). See if the band can name all the Parker tunes that are quoted! Good, enjoyable and well orchestrated use of iconic melodies without overdoing it.
