Description

This is jazz-rock reminiscent of Bitch's Brew.  The main melody snakes its way chromatically around an extended C7 tonality, supported by a grooving bass line and multiple ostinati.  The bridge section is a modal fugue, which meanders through a series of remote keys.  After an extended soprano solo, the bass clarinet (or bari) provides an ad lib obligato as the band builds through a series of varied statements of the melody, leading to a big climax.  Lots of intriguing textures, and a good groove tune for the band.  Not too demanding in terms of brass ranges.
