Description
This medium tempo, driving 24-bar blues is actually one of Torsten's most successful compositions which has been performed and recorded by several big bands. The melody is presented by a 'band within the band': 5th trumpet, 1st tenor sax and 2nd trombone. (By the way, it was originally written for and first performed by Allan Botschinsky, Ernie Watts and Jiggs Whigham). These three players are featured with solos, the trumpet soloist changes to flugelhorn for a written out doubletime chorus - quoting some of Allan Botschinsky's jazz licks - leading over saxes. A very powerful and popular tune!
Instrumentation
Standard Big Band (5/5/4/4)
