Until I Met You (Corner Pocket)

This is a SSAATTB vocalese arrangement of the Count Basie instrumental recording, written by guitarist Freddie Green. The lyrics of the head were written by Don Wolf in 1956 .The Manhattan Transfer asked Jon Hendricks to lyricize the instrumental solos and interior of the tune in 1981. 

There are three vocalese solos : Harry "Sweets" Edison , Thad Jones and Frank Wess. Count Basie's 8 bar piano solo is also a trio for the top three parts.

  This arrangement is great fun because of the feel....Basie swing at its finest ...the witty lyrics of master Jon Hendricks and the challenge of the ensemble parts.
