Germán Siman
German Siman is a drummer and percussionist who recognizes an important social role in music and teaching. He believes the study of music incorporates important tools to express feelings, ideas, and world view. He has taught at Carthage College, Shell Lake Art Center (Wisconsin), Jazz at Lincoln Center (New York), and other universities. He has also conducted sessions at “Temuco Jazz Camp” (Temuco - Chile) and Victoria Music Camp (Victoria - Chile).
German has collaborated with many musical groups of different genres, including "Triple X", "Cain", "Germán Siman Trío", "Gabriel Fonseca Jazz Quartet", and Cordoba Jazz Orchestra. He has performed with Sid Jacobs, Dominic Spera, Matt Askynazzo, Manuel Fraga, Luis D´Agostino, Tim Bell, Laura Caviani, Lennie Foy, Luis Marin, John Stowell, Tim Collins, Bill Barnard, Mariano Loiacono, Chris Olson, Julio González Goytia, Rodrigo Alvarez Vidal and many more.
German is currently the President of La Escuelita Cultural Foundation (Córdoba School of Music); producer and director of Córdoba Jazz Camp; founder, executive producer and member of “Córdoba Jazz Orchestra’; and endorser of SABIAN. This organization integrates research and development projects in social sciences and cultural policies.
German was recently the Argentinian representative to International Association for Jazz Education (IAJE). He has received distinctions for his work in cultural management, teaching and interpretation.
